RIMMEL KATEMOSS MATT LIPSTICK IN 110

I am probably the only person in the blogging world who has not tried any of the Kate moss lipsticks.  I always hear and read good things about the red shades in her original collection and how good they are

MANICURE MONDAY: MANNEQUIN NUDE REVLON COLORSTAY

My Sunday night ritual is to paint my nails something I have done for years and it is just a habit to start the week off with a new nail colour and a Mani.
This week I have decided to go with a neutral nail as i have been sporting dark nails for a while now and fancied a changed.  This nail polish is Rose beige by Revlon colorstay available at Boots for £7.99 and comes from the standalone nail display.  I call this my mannequin nude as the colour reminds me of shop mannequins but with a pink tint to it.

The colour payoff is really good and you could get away with just one coat so great when you're in a hurry!  It does have a creamy consistency and applies very easily with a wide square brush. Overall a good polish with good long lasting wear. What is your favourite nude?

ORIGINAL CULT PRODUCT: BOURJOIS JAVA RICE POWDER

I have to say I have been loving Bourjois this year, they have really brought out some great products.  The latest edition to my collection is the Java Rice powder which was first produced in 1879 and was re released as part of their 150 year celebration.  This time around it has been updated and reformulated to modern techniques but in essence the same powder.

NOVEMBER MAKEUP FAVOURITES

These are my favourite makeup items I have been loving all through November.  I have been rediscovering a Mac blush from my stash along with loving some new products. These have been my staples through out this month in my makeup bag!

1. WetnWild color icon eyeshadow collection in comfort zone.
2. Maybelline metallic color tattoo in barely branded
3. Mac blush in Sunbasque
4. Bourjois Java rice powder

I was lucky enough to have been given this lovely WetnWild eye shadow collection by my sister, when she visited the states a little while ago.  Having read nothing but good things about wetnwild eyeshadow's, I really wanted to get my hands on comfort zone.  I was not disappointed at all with the eye shadows as they are really pigmented and great colours.  It is really good that they label where all the different shades should go on your eye so you can create different looks.  I hope WetnWild come to the UK as I love their products I will doing a full review of this shortly.

I love Maybelline 24hr color tattoo eye shadows, they are long wearing easy to wear and create a good base.  Unfortunately in the UK we don't get all the shades released, which is a shame as we really miss out.  This is one of those shades that is not available barely branded is a great base product it is a light beige/gold colour.  Can be worn under any colour eyeshadow as it is quite neutral.  Barely branded is from the metallic range of Maybelline color tattoo only available outside the UK.

While sorting out my makeup last month I came across this blush in my collection and had completely forgotten about it.  Mac have such lovely blushes and I have really been enjoying using sunbasque which is a dirty peach bronze tone which has a shimmer to it.  It is a bit like a bronzer and has worked well as I still have a tan from my hols last month love it!

Last item I have been loving is the limited edition Bourjois Java rice powder.  This was one of the first cult beauty products and was created over 150 years ago.  I love the scent of this powder it is really old school beauty and has a pearlescent pink finish to it but when applied is transparent so will suit all skin tones.  My only issue is with the inside packaging I can never get the right amount of powder out! Available nationwide and online.

What have been your favourite makeup items this month?

MANICURE MONDAY : ITS WHATS UNDERNEATH THAT MATTERS : ESSIE BASE COATREVIEW

I was doing my usual nail routine at the weekend and it occurred to me that I had never shared to you all my favourite base coat.  I think it is really important if you paint your nails on a regular basis to use a base coat.  Not only does it protect your nail from discolouring but it also give a base for the nail colour to adhere to, meaning your colour lasts longer.

I have been using Essie nail products for a long time as I think they are great value for money and good quality.  This bottle in question I repeatedly buy as I really like it, it is available at boots for £8.99 click here.  Even though the bottle is a green colour the base coat comes out clear.  It has a rubber base formula to help stop chipping and grip to the polish.  It is really easy to apply, the formula is not too thick and spreads evenly.  It dries really quickly within a minute and has a slightly textured feel to it which I think is what helps the polish grip.  I find that with using this and a top coat my mani lasts around a week!

What is your favourite base coat?  Have you tried Essie Base coat?

EOS LIP BALM STRAWBERRY SORBET

Since the cold weather started about a month ago I have become obsessed with Lip balms.  I don't won't to get that chapped lip syndrome associated with the cold weather.  Now EOS lip balms have always only been available in the US but recently you have been able to purchase them in the Selfridges, beauty mart and Amazon making them much more accessible.  I picked up this beauty at the beauty mart concession in Topshop oxford street which recently opened, well worth checking out!  I have to say this lip balm does not disappoint and lives up to the hype.  Now the science bit:  100% natural 95% organic this lip balm is paraben and petroleum free.  Packed with anti oxidants and vitamin E, Shea butter and jojoba oil makes the lips very soft.

MANICURE MONDAY : NO7 STAY PERFECT TEMPTRESS POLISH

I was out at the weekend browsing through the nail varnishes in Boots when I came across this lovely polish by No7 called Temptress.  I don't know about you but this week really felt like winter for the first time.  So I felt like I wanted a dark nail polish to reflect the dark days and nights of winter.  I have bought a couple of No7 nail polishes before and been impressed with the quality and shades on offer.  I also had a £3 off voucher so made this polish £3 (£6 normally) which I think is a bargain.

L'OREAL ELNETT HEAT PROTECT SPRAY STRAIGHT REVIEW

This product came on to the market a little while ago with Cheryl Cole fronting the campaign.  I did not really discover it until my much loved GHD protector ran out and became to expensive to justify it.  I have been a fan of L'Oreal Elnett hair spray for as long as I can remember have always used it.  I was intrigued to see how this product worked as they produce good quality hair spray.  I have wavy long hair which if not controlled becomes unruly and frizzy so need a heat protect spray as I always blow dry my hair straight and use GHD's.

Info : 170ml spray bottle costs around £7.99 at Boots but is currently on offer at £3.99.  Available in 3 different types volume, waves and straight they all include the 3 day heat protect technology, protecting hair up to 230 degrees .

My hair routine is I wash my hair as per normal using argan shampoo and conditioner and then towel dry.  I then spray around 5-6 pumps over my whole head ensuring an even distribution of product and making sure I don't get too close to the hair.  It is really important not to put too much on as it can cause your hair to get weighed down effecting the final finish.

I really like the nozzle and spraying action is really easy and effective to use.  I also use a oil in my hair at this stage and then just blow dry my hair straight and don't have to use GHD's every time.  The product has a lovely smell to it similar to elnett hair spray and makes my hair lovely and smooth.

It definitely kept my hair straight for 3 days and lives up to that claim!  Have you tried any of the Elnett Satin heat protectors?

THE BUDGET BEAUTY BUY SERIES: NAIL DRY SPRAY

Who really has the time to sit patiently while their nails dry?  I know sitting in a salon having a manicure can be ultra relaxing and I do love a bit of pampering.  But normally I paint my nails in the comfort of my home on a Sunday night watching TV.  Many a time I have thought my nails to be dry when they are not and ended up ruining them.  This product speeds up the process of drying into few minutes instead of half an hour.

There are quite a few different brands on the market available on the high street.  I have tried a few different ones in the past but this is my favourite as it only costs £1 from Poundland!  I am normally very cautious about makeup and beauty products from Poundland due to shelf life but don't have a issue with sprays.  It comes in 150 ml bottle and lasts a long time as you only need two sprays.

No more smudged nails as are touch dry in about 2 minutes and can be used on most nail varnishes.  You simply paint your nails and then spray approx 4cm away from the nail and wait to dry for a few minutes.  The only negative is the smell as all these drying sprays have a chemical scent but it comes in seconds. For the price you can't go wrong!

what are your tricks for quick drying nails?

MANI MONDAY - PERFECT NUDE ESSIE NOT JUST A PRETTY FACE

I don't know about you but I love a nude nail varnish when you don't want your nails to distract from your outfit.  Essie nail varnishes have really cute names which I really like and are now really accessible to purchase.  I think originally this shade was in the core line a few years ago but can now be purchased as part of the Essie diffusion range found in boots and Superdrug for £7.99 Superdrug click here

Not just a pretty face it is a nude pink tone nail polish, which is sheer and matt in finnish.  Depending upon your natural nail colour and depth of colour you can use either two or three layers of polish.  I love the quality of Essie nail polishes as the brushes are just the right width and make it really easy to apply.  They have a extensive range of shades available of both classic and trend colours.  As you can see this is a much loved colour and my go to nude polish.

Have you tried any of the Essie polishes? what is your go to nude polish?

CARNABY CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

On Thursday night I managed to make it to see the christmas lights being turned on in Carnaby Street.  One of the advantages of not living too far from London means I can pop to things like this.  It also meant that I could take advantage of the 20% discount, start my christmas shopping and also pick up a few things I had been after.  Being the 'Year of the Robin' this took the central theme  for the light display.  Where there was lots of 3D Robins for the lights as you can see from my pictures.

It was a really great evening and packed with people.  There was a lot going on with discounts, giveaways, goody bags (of which I did not managed to get!) and free gifts with purchase.  The band and free drinks also added to a really good vibe.

My main aim was to visit Mac who had 20% off all evening.  It is very rare to get discount at Mac when you don't have a pro discount card so I took advantage of the discount and picked up a few items (haul post to follow).

I also did some christmas shopping but I won't be sharing with you those purchases-don't want to let the cat out the bag!

I popped into Illamasqua to have a browse as I don't normally get the chance to.  This is where I stumbled upon finding them creating looks in the window of the store. Please excuse iphone quality of pics but gives you an idea I always love watching makeup artists at work and such a great idea!

I hope everyone is starting to get excited about christmas as much as me!

CLARINS INSTANT LIGHT NATURAL LIP PERFECTOR 05

Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector

Clarins lip perfector is one of those products that is just timeless and the original shade has been produced for a long time.  When Clarins brought out the new shades earlier in the year I knew it had to be an essential addition to my makeup bag!

Well there are 6 shades available in total on Clarins site click here.  They are 01 Rose shimmer, 02 Apricot shimmer, 03 Nude shimmer, 04 Petal Shimmer, 05 Candy Shimmer and 06 Rosewood Shimmer.  The colours are decided to compliment your skin tone so you choose which is your best match.  I went with 05 Candy shimmer as I have quite naturally pink lips and this shade was the perfect match.

I would say they are a balm, a Lipgloss and tint all in one as I feel they do hydrate your lips enhance your lip colour in a natural way and make them look just better!  This has been my go to lip colour all holiday and is a staple in my handbag perfect when you want a natural colour with no effort.
Clarins - 2
You apply using the spongy applicator and squeeze the tube slightly you only need a very small amount and the bottle will last you ages. This product smells just sweet and lush just love the smell! Being a clarins product you will find it pretty much available everyone for £17 this is one of my Top buy products!  Due to my lovely tan not able to swatch apologies for the lack of swatches.

THE BEAUTY BUDGET BUY SERIES : BARRY M TOP AND BASE COAT

Barry M Base, Topcoat and Nail Hardener

One product I am really loving at the moment and is excellent value for money.  I find this product really handy when your going away Barry M Base, Topcoat and Nail Hardener 3 in 1.  For a bargain price of £2.99 available in Superdrug and Boots online here if you are looking for a Bargain Nail Product this does everything.
I use this predominantly as a Top coat and Nail Hardener as it is really good at correct mistakes.   As a Top coat is adds lots of shine and gloss to your nails plus some strengthening.  I have quite weak nails as I have a penchant for shellac nails and I always use this when resting my nails to strengthen them.

As a base coat it works well under coloured nail varnishes you just pop two coats on.  It dries relatively quickly as well.  I just think its a bargain and will continue to repurchase.

Have you tried this product I would love to know?
