WORTH THE HYPE : RIMMEL PERFECT MATCH FOUNDATION

I have recently been reading alot about this foundation when it suddenly dawned on me that I actually had already got a bottle of it which I bought a good 6 months plus ago and never used!  My usual foundation the lovely YSL has come to end and with it being January I was reluctant to buy anything new till payday!  Si I whipped this out to give it a go so here are my thoughts on this much hyped foundation!

A VENDING MACHINE WITH A DIFFERENCE ?

While Working in Paris in the last week I came across what I thought was a pretty cool Invention.  A nail polish vending machine by a brand called Nail Matic.  It stocks 64 different coloured nail varnishes made in France for 5 Euros each.  It also has samples of each colour on the side to help you decide which shade you what.

Unfortunately from what I can see it is only available in France and mainly Paris so lucky you! check out their website for further info Link here  Just thought it was pretty cool!

MANICURE MONDAY : REVLON 070 ENRAPTURE.

As you will of seen or read by now I do love Revlon nail polishes and this newest addition to my collection came courtesy of america via a christmas present. Now the idea of this polish is to give great colour but strength to your nails at the same time.  This is available now in the uk at superdrug check out the link.  They have a strengthening formula which is meant to combat breaking nails and brittleness via the built in base and top coat.  Personally I still like to use a base and Top coat as this gives your nails longer wear and tear time and last longer.

According to Revlon their are over 24 different shades available this one 070 Enrapture is a great winter colour.  They have the same wide angled brush as the revlon color stay polishes which is one of the reason I like them.  I find them easy to use and they give a smooth application.  As you can see you get good coverage with one coat but it is a bit sheer and with two coats the colour really comes through.  I can not say I have seen any difference in terms of the strengthening of my nails as I chop and change my colour all the time not allowing it really to make a difference.

Overall I think Revlon did a good job with this polish but I will be using a base coat with it!

  7. Shu Uemura cleansing oil brilliant product quite pricey but great for dry skin and removing makeup Review here

MAYBELLINE COLOUR TATTOO BARELY BRANDED?

I am a huge fan of the Maybelline Color Tattoo eye shadows and think they are really great products.  Unfortunately for us who live in the UK they do not release all the colours and every collection.  One of the shades that I had been dying to get my hands on is barely branded 70 as I had heard through the Internet vine it was a dupe for Mac paint pot Bare study which is 3 times the price.  When the opportunity presented itself to get one of these (Thank you to my sister) I jumped at the chance and I am not disappointed.

CHRISTMAS SALE SHOPPING FOR BEAUTY MINI HAUL

This Year I think I have been really restrained with the sale shopping and only picked up these few bits.  I think that's because I got such good gifts these year there was not much I really wanted.  I think it is also really important not to buy things just because they are in sale and just for the sake of it. There are quite a few new first time use brands I purchased so excited to try them!

Soap and Glory Crazy Sexy Kohl set this set I picked up in the boots half price sale for £8 which I thought was really good value for money as it contains 5 waterproof eyeliners and 3 eye shadows.  My only grip would be the packaging as you take the eye liners out and it is not realistic to keep the 3 eye shadows in this big case.  Luckily these actually fit into my mac pro eye palette so I am able to use them they are really good colours.  I have really liked Soap and Glory products so have high hopes for this gift set.  You can buy the eye liners in the core range for £5 each so this gift set is a bargain!

This is the first time I have purchased anything from Philosophy but have seen lots of people raving about their products and when I came across this at Debenhams for £7 instead of £14 I jumped at the chance to get it.  Now it claims to be a multi-tasking 3 in 1 formula shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath, I am not so sure about using it has a shampoo? but I am keen to use it as bath and shower gel.  Smells crisp and cool peppermint but not too strong.

Lancome Blush Rose Desire Limited edition I picked this up for half price at £17.50 which is still pricey for a blusher but thought the colour is just soo gorgeous I had to have it in my collection.  I have to admit I never saw this when it was released but it has the prettiest packaging which i am a sucker for.  Pink/Coral colour with gold pigment in.

Models Own travel brushes Well technically these are not sale but I picked them up while sale shopping so have added them in.  I have been eyeing this up for some time but when ever I went to buy them they were out of stock.  At £10 they are a really good value brush set, not only are they a good size they can't get lost in your make up bag due to the neon Orange!  I will keep you posted on what I think.

What did you pick up in the sale?

MANICURE MONDAY: REVLON MOON CANDY NAIL ART IN SATELLITE

And we are back to Monday again! It feels like the weekend went far too quickly for me.  Well lets turn our attention to this lovely nail varnish by Revlon called satellite.  The nail art collection by Revlon combine two nail colours which can be worn together or separately.  On one end you have a lovely maroon colour which is dark and rich really wintery.  Then on the other end there is a pinky/clear polish with snowflakes.  As you can see when you combine the two together it gives you a textured feel as the flakes do not lie flat on the nail.  You do have to be patient with drying each layer, as you need two coats of the dark maroon polish and then two coats of the snowflakes.  I definitely recommend using a base coat underneath to prevent any staining from the dark colour.  When applying the snowflakes make sure you tab them on to ensure you get adequate on to the nail. I am a big fan of these nail art combo's as they jazz up your nails with not much effort.  Available at Boots and I think superdrug for at £7.99
