FACIAL SPRAYS WHATS THE DEAL?

Whats the deal with facial sprays? More and more have been popping up on the beauty market recently but what do they actually do?  Being a avid beauty addict and fan of skin care I have been using facial mists for many years as I think they really enhance your skin care routine and everyone  should have one in the cabinet.  There are many different ones out on the market but my top 3 fall into three different categories of use : blemishes, hydration and relaxation.  Mists are a beauty saver as they can transform your skin from grey to lustrous in one quick spray.

This is my go to spray when I feel a blemish starting to rear its head and one of my go to french pharmacy must haves that has been in my skin care kit for a good number of years now.  The blurb on the bottle says its a zinc sulphate solution which is cleansing and soothing for oily or prone skin.  I use a fine mist after cleansing and toning whenever I feel a problem area on my skin appearing or when it is a bit sore or I have a blemish.  It is now available from Boots previously only available in France whoop whoop and comes in a 150ml blue bottle for £8.50 and as I am writing this it had 1/3 off.

This is my relaxing and pick me up spray that I reach for when travelling as it comes in a handy 30ml size which is the one I always get.  It has a fresh scent as it contains grape, orange blossom, rose, mint and rosemary essential oils and it has a powerful plant based formula which brightens up the complexion.  I find it very relaxing and calming spray which is a great pick me up for my skin it really gives a radiant finish to the skin and is also good for flights to keep skin hydrated and calm.  This is a little more pricey around £11 but this little bottles lasts me ages as I use it around once a week.

This is a cult french buy so much so it is prescribed on the french version of the NHS to treat skin issues as it works on the most sensitive skins due to its gentle formula.  This is the spray that I use in the summer months and when I am doing my facial routine once a week as it is super hydrating and I use after a face mask to add extra hydration.  This is a real multi functional spray and can be used to sooth the skin on rashes, sunburn, sooth irritated skin and to cool the skin down.  I take a travel size version of this spray whenever I go on holiday as it is a great product to cool you down and keep the skin hydrated.  It comes in couple of different sizes and there is a mini one at 50ml a great size to try if you have never used a facial spray before and available at Boots this is a great one too start with and highly recommend.

I really like the versatility of facial mists as you can use them in your skin care routine or to set your make up or as a pick me up.  I don't think my skin care routine would be complete without one.

Do you use a facial spray in your routine?

BEAUTY CARRY ON ESSENTIALS

If you follow me on Instagram you will see I recently went to Bologna and Rimini in Italy on holiday which by the way was amazing and I highly recommend it.  However I only had carry on luggage which meant that I was restricted with what products I could take with me.  This posed quite a dilemma as I had to fit all my toiletries and makeup in to one 20x20 clear bag (mine is from Muji here) no more than 100ml in size.  This made me think about what did I really need to take what are my makeup and beauty essentials what is the minimum that I needed?  There are some products that you just can't leave home without and for that I decant into little travel bottles of different sizes. I also highly recommend the real techniques mini makeup brushes I got mine from Feel Unique these save a lot of space and there is one for base, one for eyes and one for powder or blush.  It is definitely worth checking out what toiletries your hotel offers as this could help you with your choices for example a lot of hotels offer complimentary shampoo, conditioner and shower gel.  I normally try and pack multi functional products, sachets for shampoo and conditioner and wipes to remove makeup.  Some of my favourite mini's are Mitchum deodorant, Nivea face wipes 7's, Tresemme protect heat defence spray and the Colgate portable toothbrush and paste.  For makeup I took a decanted foundation, 1 lip stain, a mini mascara, a chunky eye shadow stick and a brow pencil.  It is definitely worth checking out Muji as well for their travel containers  as they have lots of different sizes and travel products as I picked up this great travel hair brush which folds up and is really small.

What are your travel essentials?

BRONZE,SHIMMER AND HIGHLIGHT BY MAKEUP REVOLUTION

I love to contour highlight and bronze on a daily basis as part of my daily makeup routine and I always on the look out for new products.  I was keen to try this offering from makeup revolution as they have got some great products in their range for really affordable prices.  This comes in a large pan size with two bronzing shades and a high lighter each around a third of the pan.  All three shades are creamy in texture and blend really well into each other and the skin.  This could definitely be used for contouring as you could use each shade individually or what I prefer is to take a big brush and swirl them together.I found this too light in colour for me even when I swirled all three shades together definitely one for the paler skin tones. You get a lot of product for your money this is definitely one of these!  I picked up this up from Superdrug here for £4 its worth checking out.

MY FAVOURITE TOP COAT

I like to paint my nails weekly in the comfort of my home and having been using the Boots No7 top coat for while when it ran out I turned to a new product  Now I have heard a lot of good things about Seche vite top coat and what amazing shine it brings to your nails.  So I thought I would give it a whirl now it is a little pricey at £10 but little goes a long way.  It claims its patented formula penetrates through the nail polish to the base coat forming a single solid coating over the nail for a more durable finish.  With ought staining the nail and leaving a glossy finish to the nail wow that is a lot of promises.  So how did it do? it is quick drying and definitely leaves your manicure very shinny and glossy.  Chip wise I would say it lasts around the 4 day mark so not to bad the only annoying thing for me is the brush it is very small in size and would benefit from a wide brush.

I got mine from Feel unique here for £9.85
