MY FAVOURITE LINER MAC BLACKTRACK GEL LINER REVIEW

Hey lovelies today's post is all about my favourite gel liner Blacktrack  by Mac Cosmetics.  I have tried lots and lots of gel eyeliners over the years and I always find I am forever going back to Backtrack as nothing never seems to quite live up to it.  Why you may ask? why is it the best and worth splurging the extra £10 compared to a drug store / high street brand versions.  It is the blackest in colour, smudge proof, long wearing and glides on easily.  Due to my oily lids I find a lot of liners smudge and wear off very quickly however this lasts 12+ hours easily.  It has the darkest Jet black colour to it and you only need to sweep one layer over unlike some eyeliners.  It has a good texture to it creamy not to drying or to wet so it glides on very easily, I normally team with my real techniques brush.  Yes at £16 it is on the pricier side but I totally think it is worth it so I don't look like I have black eyes all day!

What is your favourite black gel liner?

CHANEL HYDRA BEAUTY MICRO SERUM REVIEW

CHANEL HYDRA BEAUTY MICRO SERUM REVIEW

Hi lovelies, today I bring you a post all about this high end beauty from Chanel Hydra Beauty Micro Serum.  This is probably one of the most expensive skin care items in my routine at the moment at £66 it is definitely not a impulse purchase, I am a sucker for all things Chanel as they usual soo good!  I picked this up in Duty free back at the beginning of October when I went on holiday so I have been using it for 6/7 weeks now and feel I have a good idea of the product so I wanted to share my thoughts with you.  It looks like it is a blue colour in the bottle but it actually comes out clear the packaging is standard clear chanel style bottle with a pump dispenser with a light blue tint on the inner tube.  I really like being able to see the product and know how much you have used.

This is a super light serum so good for anyone who does not like the thick silicon feel a lot of serums have.  For the science bit the serum is designed to deliver intensely 24hr hydrated and healthy looking skin.  It contains Camelia and blue ginger micro droplets of oil with patented technology designed to deliver active ingredients directly on the skin the product aims to hydrate and plump the skin.  In a nutshell it is super hydrating great for dry skin types like mine.  I love this serum as it is super light weight, I apply two pumps first thing in the morning  to my face after cleansing it really keeps my skin hydrated all day.  I have noticed it looks more radiant and have had no flaky skin which as the weather has changed to a much colder climate recently it is a miracle it is not flaky something I normally find.  Yes it is a high end beauty purchase so definitely recommend anyone thinking of purchasing it to go to a counter and trying it first this is what I did so I knew I liked what I saw and wanted to buy it if you can buy it on Duty free as it is £15 cheaper!

Have you tried any Chanel skin care?

ONE HECK OF A BLOT PRIMER BY SOAP AND GLORY REVIEW

Hey Lovelies hope you are well, today I bring you a post on this new product from well known and loved brand Soap & Glory, this is their new primer One Heck Of A Blot.  Now if you don't know what a primer is I will explain a little further you apply this post moisturiser but before makeup for many reasons.  Primers aim to give us that much sort after perfect flawless looking skin.  They aim to correct a multitude of skin issues whether if its hydration, pore reducing, colour correction, oil control the list is endless.  Worn after moisturising the skin but before makeup they are a added layer in my routine which can make a huge difference and normally can be quite pricey.  Soap and Glory are one of my favourite brands stocked in Boots and have some fab products so when this hit the shelf at £10 I was really keen to try it out!  Now if you don't already know I have dry sensitive skin with oily eye area so I generally use products for dry skin however I have days when my skin is a little bit oily and shinny.  This primer is part of the one heck of a blot family there are 3 products in the family a foundation, powder and primer.  All of which are designed for all skin types but they are mainly aimed to absorb oil, control shine and make pores look smaller.

The primer comes in a squeeze tube that is easy to dispense the product.  As you can see it comes out a light pink colour and has a silky & creamy like texture to it with added vitamin E it aims to keep makeup in place all day along.  It leaves a matt finish to the skin due to the shine bloc formula which is there to even out the skin tone.  It applied nicely and easily to the skin and my base went on well over the top.  I did not have shiny skin for a good few hours without powder and with powder it was much longer.  I definitely think it made my makeup last longer as my skin drinks foundation up very easily.  For £10 I think it is definitely worth picking up and giving a try.

Do you use a primer ? Which is your favourite ?

FLEUR LOVES EYLURE LASHES REVIEW

Hey lovelies today I bring you a post on these lovely lashes from You Tuber Super Beauty Vlogging star Fleur De Force.  Fleur was one of the first Blogger / Vloggers that I started to read and watch on Youtube so I was Interested to see what her lash range was like.  She recently teamed up with Eylure lashes to bring out a range of lashes and with Eylure being my go to eye lash brand.  They have a large selection already from natural to dramatic easily available on the high street around £5 -£6 per packet and are available everywhere.  There are 4 different lashes in the range Simply Fleur, Fleur loves, Fleur& Fabulous and Couture Fleur which are individual lashes these I picked up in my local Boots.  I have the Fleur loves lashes which are a 3/4 length lash designed to add volume to the outer edge something I have not seen before.  I have to say Eylure lashes are on the whole really good and are definitely my brand of choice as they are inexpensive and reusable I would normally get about 3 wears maybe 4 out of a set of lashes.  These were super easy to put on you could wear these day or night as they just give a subtle feline flick.  They do come with a small pot of glue however I always use Duo glue as it is more long lasting.  These were comfortable to wear and In had to issues putting them on I really liked the look they created.  It has been a while since I have been excited or wanted to wear lashes so well done Fleur!

Have you tried any Eylure Lashes?

WHAT TO BUY FROM NYX COSEMETICS

NYX COSEMTICS SWATCHES AND REVIEW

Hi Lovelies hope you are well today I am bringing you a post on the fabulous makeup brand NYX cosmetics.  Now if you are a avid makeup hoarder, lover or addict like me then you will have seen or have a few items from this American drugstore brand and I always hear nothing but great things about the products but they are impossible to get hold off until now!  You maybe lucky and own a few items from their range from when they were available in Next a few years ago now or in their recent pop up shop in Selfridges well fear not if you missed out as they are now stocking at Feel Unique and Boots online.  I have yet to see them in Boots stores so please let me know if you have at the moment you can purchase from the online store and then do collect from store.

A little background about NYX cosmetics for those of you are new to the brand it started only available at trade shows to Professionals only in 00's and gradually grew in size year on year by word of mouth. They have done some crazy colours and products over the years like the green lipstick and generally hold hundreds of products and shades in their ranges. They were available in the uk in Next a couple of years back but the stands were always empty well the ones I visited, now a days they are freely available in the drugstores in America and are widely seen across the internet.  I first used NYX products when I visited the USA and have always picked up items on my travels.  As you may have heard or seen Feel Unique and Boots are now stocking NYX.

NYX COSEMTICS SWATCHES AND REVIEW

There are loads of great products available here are just a few of my favourite from the range and some shades I use :

HD Finishing Powder in shade Banana is a light weight finishing powder that is mineralised based it is ultra light weight and has a matt finish.  It is fine on the skin but also brightens it is soo good for the under eye area or a highlight area. I use this to set my under eye area as it helps reduce those dark circles.

PB Powder Blushers I love these little square pots of pressed powder blush really silky and pigmented.  There are over 25 shades in the range out of these I have a couple of favourites there is  Bordeaux* a rich burgandy and I also love the peach and dust rose shades.

LG Lipgloss Mega Shine available in 64 colours so literally a shade for everyone two great shades is Beige Pearl* a gold colour and Beige a pinky nude colour are my firm favourites.  A cute touch to the packaging is the bow on the top of the doefot applicator on these lip glosses they are sticky lip gloss but packed with pigment and shine.

BLG Butter Gloss in Strawberry Parfait* is a lovely pink shade and there are 24 shades available in total in the range.  These are sweet smelling with sheer coverage not sticky and great over lipstick so add that gloss factor.

JLP Jumbo Lip Pencil I love these chunky lipstick pencils where you don't need to use a separate lip  liner pencil and lipstick great for on the go the shade Soft Fuchsia* is a great nude matt pink.  A good everyday shade that goes with lots of different looks.

Have you tried any NYX products ?

TANWORX SELF TANNING LOTION* REVIEW

Hey Lovelies today I bring you a post all about fake tanning.  As you will have seen last month I was on holiday and since I have been back in the UK my tan has rapidly faded despite all my efforts, which did make a difference, I was using a Tan Maintainer it has ( cry / sad face) sadly gone.  I have been fake tanning since I was about 15years old and would like to think I have used my fair share of brands and different tanners over the years, but yet to find that perfect one some have come close and been really good but not that holy grail tan this time I may have just found it!

I am always up for trying out new brands and sharing with you my thoughts so today I am talking about fake tan.  You will have seen on my recent holiday I have been using the the TanWorx Tan Maintainer which I got as part of the Look Fantastic Beauty Box in September and have been really enjoying using it to maintain that spray tan!  So when I got back from Holiday I was really keen to continue that golden glow and have been using  Self Tanning Lotion by TanWorx* non stop over the last month.  Tanworx if you have not heard of the brand is a British Brand made in the UK produced and formulated in Cheltenham Spa all their products are made using the best of natures plants, herbs, minerals and essential oils.  They are also against animal testing and are considerate to the environment so a brand I can really relate to!

There are lots of different types of tanners on the market and my two favourite application methods are spray or lotion which you will of seen me talk about before.  As I find these to be the most fool proof application methods of tan for me due to quickness as sometimes I want to tan in a hurry.  For natural long lasting tanning I like a lotion for the fact you can see what you are putting on and where due to them being coloured lotions.  I was make sure that I Prep my skin otherwise it could be a disaster I have to have exfoliated within 24hours of applying and my skin has been thoroughly moisturised playing special attention to my dry patches elbows, ankles and knees.

My top Tips for applying this lotion would be to use a Tan Mitt to ensure that you have even application, I use a mitt with all types of fake tan application and you can pick them up for a few pounds something I highly recommend.  The great thing about this product is it is brown in colour so you can see exactly where you are applying and can not make mistakes.  I used shade fair-medium and yes when it comes out the bottle it looks really dark in colour but trust me it is not the shade that you end up with and it really delivers a light golden brown.  The bottle comes with a standard pump and I literally pumped it twice straight on to the mitt and then work my way from my feet all the way up my body in circular motions ensuring I cover all areas of the body adding more lotion to the mitt as I work my way around covering head to toe.

Then I leave to air dry for about 5 minutes and pop my PJ's on and go to bed at this point you can smell the familiar fake tan biscuit scent which if you fake tan regularly you will know what I mean it is not strong and you hardly notice it.  In the morning 8hours later I pop in the shower and rinse off the residue and you are then are left with a nice golden colour tan no streaking at all and the best bit no biscuit scent at all Yep that biscuit scent which you could smell at application once you have showered you can not smell anything.  I spent ages walking around in my house in the morning smelling my arm looking kinda crazy as I could not believe it and thought I have literally must be wrong.  This is the first fake tan I have used that does not smell!  It delivers a lovely golden glow which would be great for pale skins or just topping up your current tan.

Post one week on the first application of tan it has worn amazing with no flaking or patches anywhere I could not of been happier and have found my new go to Tan!  Well worth checking out it is available for £20 Look Fantastic

Have you tried TanWorx self tanning lotion?

PRECIOUS GEMS BY BARE MINERALS*

BARE MINERALS PRECIOUS GEMS REVIEW AND SWATCHES
BARE MINERALS PRECIOUS GEMS REVIEW AND SWATCHES

Hey lovelies today I bring you this gorgeous trio called Precious Gems* from the Bare Minerals Christmas Collection yep I mentioned the c word! Now a few weeks back I was invited by Bare minerals to see all the Christmas products launching this year.  So today I am showing you my favourite gift set from the Christmas releases.  This set is now available so I wanted to share it with you all so you don't miss out!

First up this lovely trio comes in the white and gold packaging which was designed by UK based illustrator Sarah Coleman and it is so pretty.  The set contains three of the pop of passion lip oil balms in shades plum, pink and nude.  They look like a lipstick but they are actual a balm as they contain fruit seed oil and vitamin E so they just melt on the lip.

BARE MINERALS PRECIOUS GEMS REVIEW AND SWATCHES

I have to say these are super soft & creamy when they on and they melt away so you do need to reapply but because they are so soft you don't mind, they leave a light stain on your lips which makes it last a little longer.  Normally these are £16 each so it makes good value at £25 for the set of three and would make a great present for any makeup lover or your self this christmas.  I have been carrying the pink and nude ones around non stop in my bag as I just love them so gorgeous on.

Have you checked out the Christmas gift sets from BareMinerals ?

OCTOBER MAKEUP, HAIR & BEAUTY FAVOURITES

OCTOBER MAKEUP & BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Hey Lovelies hope we are all well today I bring you my October Makeup, Hair and Beauty Favourites as you can see I had lots of them this month.  Well I don't think any of these are really any surprises as I have been talking about these products for a while now.

Balance Active Formula Hydrating Body Lotion £5.49 love this spray moisturiser coconut smelling ultra moisturising body lotion is really hydrating and was great for my holiday prep really quick and easy to use.

Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash this was in the Look Fantastic 1st Birthday Box a new product I have never tried anything from bliss before.  I was pleasantly surprised it smells amazing and has small exfoliating beads within good for everyday use I will definitely be buying a full sized of this.

Sebastian Professional Penetraitt shampoo & Conditioner  this was also in the Look fantastic 1st Birthday Box and a new hair product for me to try this was a sample size and I got about 3 washes out of this as I have really long hair it made my hair really super soft and will be checking it out.

Now you will have seen that I was on holiday this month and so my go to base has been these two beauties from Estee Lauder I have been using a combination of the two products.

Estee Lauder Day Wear Sheer Tint Moisturiser £40.00 I have been using this for years and love it as it super hydrating and tinted great for on holiday as it is two shades darker and great when I have a tan.

Estee Lauder Double wear BB makeup this is more like a hydrating light weight whipped moisturiser which is great for hot climates I find my skin can still breathe under it but it gives more coverage than the tinted moisturiser.

Mac Select Moisture Cover Concealer £15.50 my first love this concealer was one of the first that I can remember using about 15 years ago and even thought it has probably been updated it still blends so well.  This was in shade NW25 and comes with the doe foot applicator so really easy to use and combined with the tinted moisturiser worked well on holiday.

Smoky Naked Palette £38.00 by Urban Decay I picked this up at the begging of the month and I have been using it non stop! my favourite shades have been High & Dirty Sweet I can see I am going to get a lot of use out of this palette!

Embryolisse Lait Concentrate  I love this as a moisturiser and having been using for about 18 months it is great to apply before applying makeup it makes your base just glide on.  This is the small 30ml size which fits perfect within my makeup bag.

Last up a newish lip product that has already become a firm favourite from Bare minerals.

Pop of Passion oil Lip Balm £16.00 this is in shade pink passion this is so creamy and gorgeous on the lips just lovely!

What have been your favourite products this month?
