Hi Lovelies hope you are all well I know it has been a while! Lets talk foundations and bases well to be more precise the Your skin But Better CC Cream from IT cosmetics. This is a CC cream and technically not a foundation but it has been my go to base for about 18 months now since I first picked it up in NewYork. So I thought it was a good time to talk about it as I have had plenty of use of it and want to share my thoughts with you. I think this is probably my third tube of the original so it is fair to say I have throughly test driven it and I love it probably one of my favourites now. A bit of back ground on my skin type first incase you did not know, it is dry overall with oily lids and very sensitive. I rarely have many blemishes and generally I don’t get break outs (yes I am lucky!) but I do have psoriasis so have patches which need good coverage especially when I get flare ups. What do I normally look for in a foundation ?I look for a moisturising base as my skin dries out very quickly with a medium coverage to cover my psorasis that does not feel cakey. For me I like my skin to feel like it can breathe and not cakey as I often have to use quite a bit of concealer so I like light weight products that give medium to full coverage. This has to be one of the most moisturising bases that I have used, it gives a full coverage finish even though a CC cream and I find that even after a 12hour day my base still looks good.
The IT cosmetics Your skin But Better CC Cream has SPF50 with UVA&UVB sunscreen and anti ageing serum all in one product. The CC cream has a high concentration of sun screen which is broad spectrum this is always a good thing for your skin and with it being SPF50 you know it will protect your skin well. Being a CC cream it colour corrects and brightens your skin at the same time and actually gives the same level of coverage as a foundation. It comes in two different finishes illuminating (pink bottle) and original (silver). I first purchased the original CC cream aprox 18 months ago having read many great things about it on blogs and on YouTube. I picked up shade Medium in both finishes which is a perfect match for my skin tone for the majority of the year this is the third shade in the spectrum. It comes in 7 different shades in total in both the original and illuminating CC Cream.
Now one of the things I like about this CC cream is the pump dispenser making it really easy to use and not messy at all. I use one pump for light coverage and two for full coverage if I was going out for example to give me completely flawless base. Both versions give flawless full light weight coverage, highly moisturising and these are both very similar in a lot of ways. Illuminating has a light reflecting particles within it to give a glowing finish when the original I would best describe as a matt finish that is the only difference. I personally think the illuminating version is to shimmery to wear on a daily basis but great for nights out or on holiday with a Tan. I think it comes down to personal preference of what finish you like as you can add powder to the illuminating and take the shimmer down a notch.
I have found that the best way to apply is to use a damp beauty blender from the centre of my face working outwards towards hair line, so I use more product in the T zone area as this is where I need the colour correcting. It is really easy to apply I put it on to the back of my hand and then dot it on my nose and top of my cheeks and blend towards the hairline. Then I always set with a powder I am currently using NYX HD powder which then gives it longevity and really sets the base where I then can add any highlighter or bonze/blush. I find I don’t have to use much conclear at all when using this CC cream due to the full coverage. I have just started to use the Tarte shape tape conclear under the eye and on my psoriasis for added coverage as it really does give that flawless finish. This year I picked up this handy travel size from Sephora as well which comes in a 15ml size for when I am away. Previously I have always had to pick this up when I was in the states but recently they have released the product at Selfridges and QVC so I am very excited to be able to now purchase it in the UK at the same cost £30!
Next on my list to try is the under eye cream. Have you tried any of the It cosmetics products?
